Oh boy! runDisney has just dangled a BIG carrot in front of me! I thought about going out to Disneyland in the fall to earn my Coast to Coast medal. But this may have just sealed the deal! runDisney just announced a new race during the Disneyland half marathon weekend in the fall of 2013 ~The Dumbo Double Dare. Not to compete with the Goofy Race and a half Challenge that is held in January at the Walt Disney World Resort which you run the Half Marathon on Saturday and then the Full Marathon on Sunday. The inaugural Dumbo Double Dare will have you running a brand new 10K on Saturday and then the Half Marathon on Sunday. If you finish both races within the pacing requirements, (maintaining a 16 min per mile pace), you will be awarded the all new Dumbo Double Dare medal in addition to your Half Marathon and 1oK finisher medals! 3 runDisney medals in one weekend!
Dumbo Double Dare will feature:
- Two courses through Disneyland® Resort and the City of Anaheim, California totalling 19.3 miles
- Disney Characters and Entertainment on-course
- Family Reunion Area with live entertainment and characters
- Race within walking distance when you stay at a Disneyland® Resort Hotel
- Event transportation included when you stay at a select Disneyland® Resort Good Neighbor Hotel
Race participants in the Dumbo Double Dare will receive:
- Champion® Unisex Short-Sleeved Tech Shirts for the Half Marathon, 10K and Dumbo Double Dare*
- Special Dumbo Double Dare finisher medal, along with Disneyland® Half Marathon and Disneyland® 10K finisher medals for completing the Half Marathon and 10K*
